Seeking testers for "S3Dock," an Android app that lets you use S3 buckets like cloud storage
Hello, I'm Munou.
Recently, SSD and HDD prices have been skyrocketing, so I've been looking into cloud storage as the easiest way to share files between my PC and smartphone.
Problems and things I noticed
However, I realized halfway through that all cloud storage services:
Even if you don't use 2TB of storage, if you have a 2TB contract, you have to pay the monthly subscription for the full 2TB.
Some have daily upload file limits.
Uploading tens of thousands of files from a PC is too slow.
Moving between online storage services becomes painful, effectively leading to vendor lock-in.
Many don't allow region selection, which can cause poor performance.
Thinking these issues might make them difficult for my workflow, I thought it might be better to just upload to a compatible S3 bucket in the first place.
Benefits of using S3
It's relatively easy to mount on Linux using RClone.
Personally, what I value most is that operations like uploading 10,000 files (about 5GB), which used to take over an hour with rclone copy on other online storage services, now finish in about 5 minutes.
Also, I'm currently using Cloudflare R2, which has unlimited bandwidth, and for about 30GiB of data, the monthly operating cost is estimated at around 50 yen. In this case, the free tier for API operations is amazing; Class A/B API operations include 1 million requests each, which is more than an individual can use up. The free tier for storage cost is about 10GB.
There are also Asian regions.

For those who can help with testing
It's basically an app for my own use, but I want to distribute it on the Google Play Store, so I'd appreciate it if you could test it.

Since I need to add email addresses for closed testing, if you're willing to test, please send the Gmail address you use for the Google Play Store to the contact info below. I'll add you as a tester and send an email with a promo code so you can use it for free. Thank you.
